There are times when, just when I think I've got my shit together, just when I think that I've re-discovered my sassy, just when I am under the delusion that everything is organized the way it should be...I end up taking two steps back.
It is then, on those days like the floor feels like it's dropped out from below me, that - more than ever - I need to remember these wise words from a long-forgotten source:
Red leaves on a string

I like this! I'll have to remember this when I take 2 steps back.

Are you sure you didn't write this just for me today? My thought for the day is that if I keep on taking one step forward and three steps backward, I should probably just turn around and walk backwards. It would be faster, albeit clumsier.
I call it "falling uphill". It's ugly- but it's still progress.
I think the backward/forward notion is such a fallacy. There's all kinds of progress that isn't measured by motion. Sometimes it's just a bright thought or hope or happiness.... or in your case - sass!
Ahh luuurve you...
Countess NNG: It's the Metaphysical Tango!
Countess Ti: September seems to bring about a certain wistfulness for progress, I think.
Countess D: I agree. And sometimes forward motion is not visible to the eye, but is recognized in the heart.

Ahhhh, so true.
I needed this today, actually. My sassy's MIA. Hope you rediscover yours soon.
